Education and Training
Born in San Francisco, and raised in Kansas City, I earned an undergraduate business degree in Boulder, Colorado. After work as a teacher in a small school for gifted children, I began five years of graduate work & post-graduate family therapy training in Seattle in 1990. I worked in many distinct clinical settings with underserved communities in Washington state during the ‘90’s. Upon moving to Flagstaff in 2001, I found Northern Arizona to be a wonderful home to raise my two daughters and enjoy the rich natural beauty of the Colorado Plateau. My current passions include Diamond Approach work, Open Floor dance, poetry, photography, hiking and biking. Protecting and deepening my connection to nature is a high priority.
My professional passion is for helping people of all ages to love themselves and to extend that love to the world around them. In particular, I seek to instill the capacity for insight; who am I and what do I want? What does my heart feel, and how well do I love? How do I practice embodiment and begin to live from presence? I believe that all humans have the capacity to feel into our spiritual wholeness, and aliveness. Discerning that balance, and cultivating the discipline and support we deserve is essential to mental health and well-being.
Clinical Perspective
Trained in Whole Systems Design, I believe that we all exist in a network of family, cultural, social and environmental connection, and therefore grow best when we are known and seen. Nationally licensed as a marital and family therapist since 1996, I have compassionately provided a broad array of psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, adolescents and families. Serving the Flagstaff community as an Arizona licensed practitioner since 2001, I continue to seek excellent training, which allows me to deepen my skills and increase my knowledge of human experience and healing connection. Daily meditation, exercise and nutritious foods complement my approach to finding peace in the midst of a stressful and changing world. In 2023, I began work with the Ridhwan School, and the Diamond Approach. In deepening my understanding of Object Relations, Enneagram Typology and Self Relating, I have a new set of tools to utilize in my practice with clients and in life. We are here to thrive and shine, as well as to be of service to the world around us.
